So i know how i said that i would dedicate this channel to realistic tactical games, and so far there have been only two exceptions on the list of around 70 video's.
Now i'll have to put on a third exception, because i just HAVE to have this trailer on my channel.
Into the Wild is an amazing movie about a true story which inspires me to the core to explore the world and all the people that live in it, and it is a real must-see.
I have been grabbed by this movie and it won't let go. Some day i'll have to take the same kind of journey!
@sparks444 Yeah this is true. I read a part of an interview in the book from a former friend of his who said Chris was born to late in terms of century, because there was nothing left to explore. Everything had been mapped already.
So with nothing left to explore he just got rid of the map and explored it for himself.
This unfortunately got him killed.
The movie is mainly about his lifestyle though, not his mistakes and imo this is how it should be, and his outlook on life is inspiring :)

Mainly he starved to death(the film focuses a lot on the plant though), when he was found, hes BMI was far under a critical level.
He wasn't really stuck either, just a small distance up river from the bus there is an industrial cable/bridge going over the river, if he had brought a simple map of the area he would have discovered it.

@sparks444 I agree he didnt do nearly enough preparations than he should have.
However from what i read about the book i get the impression this was not ignorance, but he had thought about it quite a bit.
McCandless was a very bright and intelligent guy, and despite a lack of materials he managed to live in the wild for quite a long time.
His only misstake was eating a wrong plant, or what is now believed, the wrong part of an edible plant, of which the seeds were poisonous but roots eatable.

Its a great movie and I listen to the soundtrack often, but nobody should enter the wild without the necessary preparations, gear, clothes and knowledge.
What McCandless did was effectively suicide, and should not be glamorized IMO. But with that in mind, the film is still a great inspiration.
