Unusal tune as we use this one to ye holy angels bright. Gospel is usually the tune used for this hymn.

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (Nov. 21, Christ the King Sunday), I played this as the opening hymn at a local Lutheran Church that I filled in at. It is #430 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship. However, it was to the tune, LAUS REGIS, composed by William E. Fischer, 1849-1936. So ends the church year.

I never tire of this one. The vocals are average but the lyrics are dynamite. Verse two says it all . . . "When He had purged our stains, He took His seat above." I can't wait for the day that I get to sit at His feet.
