I happened to come across a BBC article regarding an AS-Level maths error where students were set an impossible question. This is why exams suck!

Apparently 6,800 teenagers took the exam - and to set a long story short.. The exam body OCR cocked up the paper. OCR say that the candidates will not be disadvantaged, and apologized for the mistake.

But does that sound fair to you?
All these adults continue to make decisions for us.. if its not our parents telling us what to do.. it's adults deciding how many exams we should take, and how difficult they should be!

Technically they failed. Who gives OCR the right to examine us.. When they clearly need examining themselves?

Haha, exams are dumb, and so was that kid. Why would you ever spend 40 minutes on one question? I would've just given up on that question. :P

If he's looking to go to university this year, that means that that AS maths exam was a resit. So if we're talking about it costing his uni place, he should have done well enough in it the first time around... Just sayin'.
