This is made with Tabit. I have an Audigy 2 soundcard with 100MB of SoundFonts loaded. It should sound well improved over MIDI standards. The song is Dream Theaters Burning My Soul from Falling Into Infinity. This is an example of soundfonts to replace standard MIDI sounds.

  • Hey how do you install soundfonts?

    Been driving me crazy -_-

You have to have a special Sound Card or something?

  • Yes, you have to have a soundblaster type card from Creative. THey are cheap and simple to install. You should get one and put some muscles on your MIDI.

  • some part of the guitar are wrong or missed. If anyone need the tab of this song, watch my channel 'cause i have the guitar parts of that great song! see ya!

  • yeah, just use cakewalk to do the notation and worry about the soundfonts later. You can get soundfonts from various sites, or buy em on cd. Then you just apply them to your midi tracks and tweak them. simple and powerful

  • good information, thank you.

  • or you can try to download the soundcanvas software.. that works too..but instaed of dealing with something like this i d rather get a sequencing program like cubase cakewalk or fruity loops and use the midi sources on them.. that ll be way better with the quality of the sounds..

  • This could be the holy grail if someone can explain to a techno noob like me. I LOVE Guitar Pro and use it to create backing tracks but the MIDI just doesn't cut it at times.

I have an Audigy 2 Soundblaster Platinum card, my PC, my guitar/amp and N Track rec software.

Can I use soundfonts? How? What? Why? Where?

If anyone can help - please drop me a mail.

    Thx

  • you don't need a soundblaster to use soundfonts, just download sfz,or any other soundfont player, and when you load it in your sequencer you can then load any soundfont you want to play the midi. Soundfonts rock, I use several from time to time, and GreenXenon, soundfonts sound only as good as the sample it came from, most of the free ones are crap, try Sonivox, their bluejay drum soundfont rocks, also, that's why you keep a legacy machine around. Cheers

  • I like my guitar pro better...

  • Soundfonts stink like thick-diarrhea-kakaa-foam-of-humans

I hate sample playback MIDI synths, emulations, and soundfonts.

My favorite MIDI synth = Creative Music Synth [220] = SB16 ISA's FM synth.

I am upset at Creative Technology because they no longer make Creative Music Synth [220].
