Raphael Pirker (Trappy) is an Austrian born university student that has a passion for flying first person view (FPV) RC planes. Recently his passion got him in some hot water recently!

He decided to prove what many people thought couldn't be done. He flew an unmanned aerial vehicle in New York city. While the footage is stunning, and Trappy claims it was all legal, many feel it was an irresponsible and reckless act.

Flite Test is a strong supporter of the RC flying community. We believe everyone should practice responsible and safe behavior. We also believe in treating people with decency and respect, no matter what they have done. Many people have been making judgments and accusations then posting them as facts. This interview is a rare opportunity to hear Raphael's opinions and ideas straight from his mouth.

Flite Test, and its producers, do not condone unsafe or irresponsible behavior. Please take the time to understand, and abide by local laws and regulations while flying.

Flite Test Mission Statement:
Flite Test was created for people passionate about RC flight. Our hope is to create a show for the people that build and fly planes and helicopters as a hobby. They are the dreamers and engineers that get a thrill from the first hand launch of a maiden flight. The show will personify the veteran and the beginner alike giving them a chance to share common experiences with others, in turn, enhancing the RC community. The goal is to develop a creative outlet that allows us to work in our passion daily. Flite Test is designed to cater to the audience. It has just enough humor, technology and information to appeal to the RC flight crowd as a whole. We hope to empower, entertain and educate as we move forward with quality content.

  • Watever, my point being You guys endorse a company that is dangerous to the RC comunity

  • @SleepEat3D Not one single manufacturer has a 100% non-failure rate on their products. At what percentage of reliability is a product considered safe?

  • The connection i made was these guys have no problem endorsing a company that lies to its custom and sells faghlty goods , yet they have the cheek to sit there and ask one guy questions about how safe a flying wing made of foam is , i have been hit by one of these wing ''By accident'' i got a tiny bruise , alot less damage than that bloody helicopter would cause theres your connection mate.

  • @SleepEat3D We asked questions our viewers wanted to ask. There was no judgment on Trappy OR Hobby King.

  • How many times does the dude with the glasses need to remind us they don't endorse Raphael's actions? Once was enough, twice was overboard, three times was insulting. You don't think we heard you the first two times? What a suck that dude is. Otherwise the interview was interesting as was the original video.

  • @optikmike Got it.

  • You ruin your credibility when you give this stupid, angry bitter kid any type of respect. You really should pull this vid.

  • To view Trappy's amazing video's search for "teamblacksheep" or nastycop420.

  • @MoreBoingPlox Pluss if you flew a 500 helicopter .. It fell apart hit you and you were badly injured and you were lying in that hospital bed with a 2 foot gash down your face ... Your never gowing to look the same again , and the Boss of hobby king plods in , and sez Well you get what you pay for dont you mate ... You would get up and punch him unless your an idiot , The hkgt 500 was a terrible excuse for a high performance helicopter end of.

  • @MoreBoingPlox Well a heli that falls apart in the sky when it has been built by guys who have been flying for longer than i have been alive ok 40+ years . thats is NOT what i call safe

Hobby king had no right releasing that helicopter as it had not been tested properly to the right standards im a 3D pilot and my hk gt 500 fell apart wilst hovering what does that tell you ? Hobby king knew full well that helicopter was not 3D mine went inverted ONCE that does not mean that it is 3D capable.

  • @SleepEat3D biased* Not sure why you draw a connection between "Safe Flying" an apparently poor build quality. (Which I didn't note) Plus you get what you pay for. The Heli was also flown by a compatent 3D Heli pilot. Harsh conditions the Helo was able to pull some amazing 3D. FliteTest in almost all there video endorse safe flying.

  • @optikmike It really wasn't as bad as you noted above. Chad is an amazing director. I wouldn't insult his competency just because a few disclaimers were mentioned. Issues were raised by many Youtuber's o "Trappy"channel that were concerned about the safety of the FPV flights. To protect the reputation of the channel and possible sponsorships it was wise to advise users that they were in no war endorsing the actions of the pilot merely informing. Why you would feel insulted? That's concerning.
