Jon is a confirmed Bellamite

Not a touch on Mr. Bellamys version. Its interesting to see how much Boden is modelling himself on Bellamy though - singing many of the songs Bellamy is well known for. Probably dangerous ground to tread on if you ask me...

Perfect marriage of superb song and masterful singer.

I like the pace and energy in this version, much more bounce the Peter Bellamy one. A studio version, getting the whole thing and without the noise would be even better
Only two "Err, which line have I got to..." moments doing this live is also rather good!

This song was one of the highpoints of Sidmouth for me </:o)

I generally prefer a upbeat morris tune to the average English folk song but this is an astonishing effort.....5 stars and counting.... thank you very much for posting this. I was at the concert and was blown away for Jon Bodens' incredible performance.

Thanks so much for uploading this. I saw him do this in our folk club back in June, and was gobsmacked by it. An incredible feat of memory apart from anything else.
Fantastic, absolutely magic - eleven out of ten.
Hobden is quite a common name in that part of Sussex so Kipling's poem may have had at least a little basis in fact.......
