  • Just found out there will be a Gnome 2.30 release after all. That is, Gnome 3 will not equal the Gnome 2.30 release.

  • Yes ,i know :-(

  • What software do you use to capture the screen in this video? I think the command scrolled up in the terminal. :-)

  • i used recordmydesktop

  • So how is it? Is it as easy and quick to use as the Vista menu for searching applications and files?

  • It's a bit complicated ,because if you want only use mouse (and the application isn't in the short list ,you must click on more and then in the category of the program and in the end on the program ,but if you use the "search " it's very easy find the application

  • Here's a comment in English to make xenophobic non-Italians feel more comfortable.

  • Don't like it, this whole windows scale thing looks much nicer and faster in compiz. I truly admire the people creating gnome, but they should focus on their own areas.

  • Thumbs up if you came here from "The argument against multiple desktops" from piestar dot net.

  • While KDE 4 was a bit of a trauma, it was indeed like a revolution, especially in the long run. This, however, just seems like the same old shit remixed once again with the fu***g windows flying all over.

  • @cr561979 If you use many programs, having multiple desktops is essential. I separate the programs on each desktop by activity. For instance, sometimes I have a desktop for my normal activity at home, then a desktop I might leave open for homework I'm working on that I know I'm going to need all the windows again, then another desktop for a programming project, etc. If I had all those windows on one desktop it would be a clusterfuck.

Firefox's panorama might nullify some of this now though.

  • this is bload an bullshit stuff

  • Just what we all need, 101 different workspaces. lol ffs

  • @TheAdminpwn You can simply use ffmpeg. Check tip # 10 :

    catonmat.net/blog/top-ten-one-liners-from-commandlinefu-explained/

  • So this is better than the default?

  • I've never figured out why people need multiple desktops instead of simply hitting a tab in the taskbar.

And all this zooming will make the work just tedious especially since most pc are getting les watt consuming and subsequently slower

  • Looks like LXDE or XFCE for me.
