  • Are those mountains west or east of you?

  • North East, Phil. This valley runes up into Virginia. The spot I am standing is approximately 20 miles south west of Cumberland Gap, and Virginia..

  • Pretty impressive mountains. Looks like you got a little snow already.

  • Snow is not that common in this valley, but occasionally we get some whoppers. Last year our total for the year no more than 5 inches. A few years ago I saw one snow between 28 and 32 inches. I spend most of my time between this Cumberland Mountain valley and the high country of North Carolina. I was borne as the crow flies about 18 miles across that mountain in a community call Anthras which is now a ghost town.

Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays to you, Phil

  • That's beautiful countryside Frank. I think East Tennessee is one of the most beautiful parts of the country. It looks like you're going to be able to show us all around with that new camera! The quality is spectacular. -Jim
