  • 1:23 is my favorite thing ever

  • 5:36 !!

  • I just think that you can't be a big fan of Arkins to begin with, or you would recognize immediately what he is doing..And I think that comes from years of seeing him do it...He is an accomplished dramatic actor, as well, ie. Wait until Dark, Glengarry Glen Ross...His over the top style was developed while being one of the founders of the renown improv troupe "Second City"..Which was the catalyst for the creation of SNL...Anyway, to each his (Her) own.

  • @cheezer57 I don't think it's about a generation gap here. I LOVE "Brewster McCloud", "California Split" and most Altman movies and Asby's "Shampoo" is a favourite of mine.

About "Little murders" I have to admit I've more enjoyed the changing tone, the unsettled feeling of the movie rather than the acting that is often too theatrical to me .

  • @delysid22...I see you're 41...I believe that this style of black comedy, and it's style of acting it out, is lost on people who are younger than me...I grew up with the "Brewster McClouds", Harold and Maudes" "Dr.Strangeloves" and so on..This is not to be insulting..I have a younger sister, who is 45, and even for her this brand of story telling escapes her...I guarantee you, anyone who's forte is this brand of comedy, the movie makers themselves, Roared at Arkin's performance here..No doubt.

  • @cheezer57 I'm not doing a statment here, I'm just saying how I react to an acting that drew me out of the movie.Sure it's a black comedy but regarding the acting of some actors (Arkin, Gardenia) it could have been better balanced

Even with excess there could be some measure

  • @delysid22 ..It's a Black Comedy!..The very idea of a black comedy calls for all of it to be "Over The Top."..If you don't understand that, than you certainly don't understand black comedies....Alan Arkin played this role, absolutely spot on!...I don't know how anyone can say Arkin is over the top, and at the same time, here is Vincent Gardenia, in all his, even more, "Over The Top" splendor, (Who I also think is brilliant.)..The only "Bud Abbott" straight person is the Patsy character.

  • @cheezer57 It's just that Alan Arkin acting doesn't fit with the rest .

To me he's a bit too much .And I don't think the whole movie is over the stop.

  • @delysid22 ..The Alan Arkin character is over the top!!...The ALAN ARKIN character is over the top?!!!...Are you kidding???!!!....OF COURSE, THE ALAN ARKIN CHACTER IS OVER THE TOP!!!!....Oy Vey!!!...The whole damn movie is over the top!!..That's the point, for god's sake!!!...Good Lord, save us all!!
