This is a segment from the ABC show Nightline that aired in November 2006 about an Episcopal church in Briarcliff Manor, New York that conducted a "U2 Eucharist" service set to the music of U2 and Bono, with Fr. Tim Schenck celebrating. A growing number of Episcopal churches are conducting such service to raise awareness about global poverty and to reach out to their communities.

I think the Christian church all around the world but especially in the U.S. needs a revival of God's pressence. If U2 songs can make that happen then great, if not then quit the gimmicks and give me God!
I'm so excited to see this happening. I served as a musician and lay reader in the Episcopal Church in the U.S. for many years before coming to Korea to teach in a university. In Korea I discovered CCM and other contemporary Christian music...but not in the Anglican Church in Korea. If you know of U2 Eucharists or similar services in Korea, please let me know. Thanks for this video clip. I am encouraged and can't wait to participate!
Thanks so much for posting this. I'm considering attending a U2charist in a few weeks and am trying to gather more info. first-I'm conflicted as to whether or not I want to go...thanks for providing this clip.
