A glass of water is thrown into the air at -45F in Deadhorse, Alaska. Watch as liquid water instantly turns into ice fog!

  • Some good thoughts going on here. :-) kooldude619rey hit it right on, though. So, if it were to just be poured out slowly, it still wouldn't cool off enough to freeze before it hit the ground, like it is able to do if it is thrown up in to the area with much more area to cool off quicker. However, in these kinds of temperatures, it will freeze pretty fast on the ground too!

  • Strange - tried another video this winter with a better camera, but it didn't work with cold water. Anyone want to try explaining the physics behind that?

  • Ha! Great idea- anyone that's gonna try this one with urine at -40 should tell me how it turned out, and how your sensitive parts fared..... ;-)

  • how does your camera not break in that weather? and the liquid in your eye doesn't freeze?

  • wow man if it's even colder than -40F then make sure you wear something warm on your head! If you wear nothing on your head and it's that cold, then there are braincells dying.

  • just curious... will it still freeze even though you pour it out slowly?

  • @flyAJ Hot water begins to evaporate and supercool much faster

  • @MrNohab but what if you gotta take the browns to the superbowl on the side of the road and you stuff freezes inside you? youd have pissticles and shitsticles just cloggin you up bad vibes!

  • @kooldude619rey also the reason it didnt turn into steam when it was cold was because when water is cool the atoms bunch of together and make it harder to turn into a gas :P

  • im guessing that it didnt turn to fog WHILE it was in the glass because it had MUCH less surface area and was only in cold for a short period of time. Whenever you through it into the air the drops/particles spread apart making MUCH more surface area and the droplets were turned to steam because of their miniature size/mass.

I dont know thats my guess im only in grade 8 xD

  • @LoggerMcKnocker Id imagine it would freeze and block your urethera with pice (piss and ice) LOL

  • @flyAJ Hot water freezes faster than cold. Nobody knows why though.
