Hi . I don't know the answer to your question but did you see the comment from lars 3939 below that seems to be the most logical answer. Isn't his connection with the song wonderful . You can see the feeling from his heart that comes through in every note he sings. A pity my Irish isn't better so I could translate what he is singing!

Request for help from CH: would anyone be so kind as to explain to me why the singer is holding the hand of somebody, in this case, a lady's hand?
A bit daft, I'm afraid, my question, but I am sure there's a specific reason for it. There's also a reason for the inuit to stand facing each other while performing their throat singing, for instance. So, is there an explanation for it?
Thanks in advance from the Alps, A.

@lentilux You were lucky to have this man to assist with interpretation of slow airs.

Seán was a great singer and a generous man. I paid him a visit in 1979 when performing with a group at the Fionn Tra House in Ventry. He kindly offered to help me with the interpretation of slow airs on the uilleann pipes. I always remembered his version of Bean Dubh an Ghleanna and it's wonderful to see Seán sing it after three decades. Thanks, TV4gaeilge, for posting this. Much appreciated!
