i used to scream like you. than my vocals started getting worn out as fuck. i've learned to use my diapraghm instead of just breathing regulary before i do a scream. it actually sounds more clear. good shit though. i'll stuff up soon enough aswell ;]

@ThoughtOf7 ya... I onced also sang like Corey did back then... over about 2-3 years - and fucked up my vocal chords with it. but it's definitely worth it, singing like this is just so extremely intensive, so absolute PURE...

thanks man, appreciate the comment. all I can say is that the type of scream I'm doing is unique to corey taylor's... I've just found a way to sound like him and it's basically giving it all you've got, without focusing on any technique. from my experience, no, performing this scream is not safe, and yes, it will damage your vocal chords, much like it fucked up corey's. but that's the beauty of it, coreys scream is just so real and he wasn't giving a shit what it did to him

@ThoughtOf7 I say fuck those 'safe' ways of screaming, it just sounds like they're breathing in half the time. I've seen local bands that do it live, they just look and sound like fucking idiots.

@misterkurdt hah yeah! I try and scream like corey a lot less now, and if anything screaming once and a while has just strengthened my vocals chords. if I do any future covers it's gonna sound epic, I promise you all.
