I'm starting to be a big fan of Isabella Bolyston! Beautiful!

Pointe shoes are not an accessory. Ballet dancers wear point shoes, it is part of the ballet technique and extend the vocabulary of the dancer. All modern dancers should be open to trying it for at least a year, with a ballet teacher.

@ballerinette1 its a unitard with a white leg and black top

this is amazing. thanks for sharing
but agree, they should have danced this barefoot for it being a modern piece anyway. would have looked better
still love it anyway

Will someone explain to me why anyone is wearing pointe shoes? It could just as well have been danced by modern dancers barefoot to much the same effect. (Which I guess is appropos considering Millepied's early dance training. But then, why use ABT?)

Beautiful choreography and dancing. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. This is gold!

funky to wear pink tights pulled up high over a black leotard...who was that anyway?
Looks like Isabella Boylston, who danced the lead (alternating the role with Paloma Herrera and Gillian Murphy).

Some really great (and original) stuff here, esp. from 3:15 onwards! I read the other week that Benjamin is thinking about doing some pieces to music by the Doors...? As much as I like the Doors, I can't even contemplate how radically different that would be, but regardless, I'm sure he will do his usual great work!
