the hair kicking really doesn't bother me all that much unlike those Nhandu hairs. You will feel very itchy, depending if you do react badly to the hairs. If its for handling I don't suggest wearing gloves. Its feet contain tiny claws that act like suction cups, so it can get stuck on the glove if you try to pick up from your hand

Arent you afraid for the hairkicking? I really want a Smithy but I am really afraid of the hair kicking.. Does it hurt when you get the hairs in your skin? Or can I wear some protective gloves and eye/mouth cover or something?

both are fine. Follow my feeding videos. It gives you an idea on how to feed them.

How does eco-earth work for the soil? How many times a week should i mist the enclosure?

@jrnero2
you mist the substrate when it's dry..It works exactly the same as you've seen in my videos. You don't need to overly mist brachys

@Jon3800 Sorry for my bad grammar in the first message but my first question is actually "Is eco-earth just as good of a substrate as potting soil?"

@Jon3800 Jon is there a way to know if you are allergic to tarantula hairs?

@Jack5458
Jack, as with ANY case of allergens...you must be exposed to them first to find out if you're truly allergic to them.
