@MrFlaujac That's simply because the 1795 Springfield musket is a copy of the 1766 Charleville (and the 1816 Springfield is a copy of the 1777 Charleville modifié an IX).

Nice Musket! Is that one built by Pedersoli? There is something addictive about shooting black powder. "Once you go black, ya never go back!" XD

@murpheysmuskets Okay. I usually simply whipe it clean every few shots. There are cheap Powders out there, which have a wider range of Grain sizes, like the original BP of those days. these powders ignite very easily.

I'm going to have to buy a flintlock soon, if I don't stop watching this channel. BTW, what do you use for priming? 4F, or just your barrel powder?

@DangerousDan762 I usually start out with the 2f from the cartridges. But after ten rounds things foul up and, I switch to 4f to keep things running smooth

@murpheysmuskets I never had problems with fouling. I wonder how 4f is erasing any problem with fouling...

@LutzDerLurch It doesn't erase it. 4f just ignites easier and my frizzen is getting soft. So after 10 rounds and the frizzen getting dirty I switch to 4f as it burns faster and easier.
