Guys I don't think it really matters which division of GM makes them - Chev, Holden or Oldsmobile.....as long as they just fuckin' make 'em!!! Oh...and by the way, stop takin' the piss out of the yanks all the time ya f*&%$#@ ratbags!

Original, Aussie-designed Holdens like the Monaro, Commodore, etc. are cool. Even going back to the days of the Kingswood, you could see the "GM" lines in them. I don't think the General bogs Holden down as much as some of their other brands (particularly in the USA, where we're stuck with Buick after the downsizing), at least they aren't selling crap like the Apollo and other rebadged rubbish. Holden turns out some original, very cool cars.

@thagreen72 Yeah......Have the Holden Caprice in "Non-Police" spec, rebadge it as an Oldsmobile, and it will wake up their dealerships. Or they could cut a deal with HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) to sell the Grange; a Caprice that's been tuned and given some steroids

@bpowersman5000 That's very easy to fix. Change the front and rear bumpers (although a slight pain to order them from Australia) they will bolt right on without any trouble. The badging on the Monaro isn't on the bumpers, so if you want to keep the Pontiac badges, no real problem. There is also the HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) version which makes the US version look a little soft. There was a movie called "The Last Ride." In it, a GTO is stolen, and they customise it with HSV bodywork

Maybe someday Holden will be free of GM but keep in mind, when that day comes you won't have the LS series motor or the L67 supercharged V6's either. All the good motors you would have from GM US by the way, would go away. You are right, I was wrong.

They really didn't sell well here, honest. I'm sure they were a hot commodity over in Australia, but here they really weren't. People were mad they had brought back the GTO name but it looked nothing like a GTO. I actually took one out for a drive and was suprised by how nice it was. If the exterior didn't look like the GTO I would probably like it more.

To be 100% honest, I am sure the Monaro is quite an awesome car but the problem is when GM US got a hold of it they tone down the suspension and just slaughter a good car. .
-
no offense to all the gm supporters. you know what i mean though, this bpowersman5000 needs to be belted silly. there are a few good beasts in general such as the vettes, vipers and stangs + Cadillacs ( i personally love them) . i think this guy is an embarrassment and should be shot. fuck you, go polish your bf's knob. or has it been a while?
-
It didn't sell well because GM U.S fucked the look up like it does for 90% of the cars they produce / import. Your version was ugly as fuck thanks to you retards. You cant even produce a decent car, exept for the vette. In reality the monaro ( the real version, not gto ) is an awsome car in all aspects. thats why GM AUS were basically designing all the new hot models for U.S. waste of our expertise in my opinion wish holden was indepedent then it wouldnt be dragged down by fuking GM.

why does everything have to be a fight between countries, stfu. this is a fuckin video about a car no one cares about the land down under. sure this may be australian but nonetheless, its a car.
thank you for my GTO btw
