There was just so much to see in this beautiful and welcoming city. We walked through the Old Town to the Lennon Peace Wall. Started in 1980 after Lennon's death, over the years it became a place to visually lash out against the Communist regime. From there, we walked to the tram so that we could head to Letka Park, the city park which is perched on top of a huge hill - as are many important sites in Prague. But the park did not disappoint. Stunning views of the city and ice cold beer in a beer garden that is a frequent haunt for locals to go after work for a drink. The Metronome is a giant, functional metronome located in the park overlooking the Vltava River and the city center of Prague. It was erected in 1991, and stands on the plinth left vacant by the destruction of an enormous monument to former Soviet leader Joseph Stalin (the monument was destroyed in 1962). The whole area around there has become a hangout for skater kids and was one of the few places in the city that was covered with graffiti. At this point we had earned a decent lunch: kolbasz grilled before our eyes in the main square in the Old Town.
