I've been called for jury duty 6 times in the last 25 years and served on a jury once. The last time was a month ago. I got selected to serve for a 3-week trial. I called the clerk and asked the judge to reconsider. He let me out but wanted me to know he "wasn't happy about it." I wonder if he would work for three weeks for $15 dollars a day and inconvenience the over 150 clients I would have had to reschedule if I served. I'm cool with civic duty, but that was ridiculous.
