Equal Rights are Civil Rights and should never be dependent on popular opinion, but common sense. Marriage is a Contract based on Love and Devotion to the Partnership. That contract is protected by law and is the basis for tax structure and dependant rights and responsibilities. If we deny any couple who have common sense, love and devotion the right to enter into a marriage contract then every marriage should be negated under the law.

Tuvo un par de huevo para ser de derechas y decir eso. En España, Rajoy ni de coña tendría lo que hay que tener para apoyar el matrimonio homosexual como lo hace Cameron. Enhorabuena por el primer ministro que tiene Inglaterra.

I'm an American, so I'm glad to see that conservatives in other parts of the world are more moderate than the one we've got here.

David Cameron is a labour politician wrapped in tory clothes.
Here is what a real tory has to say about the subject...
"Lord Tebbit: If gays can marry people of the opposite sex, there is no marriage inequality."
Claims of discrimination are shrill and self defeating. The government has not business what so ever in the private lives of same sex couples.

Thatcher also voted to legalize homosexuality in the 60's. Its not a straight forward picture as your attempting to create. Section 28 come out of public concerns at the time, not just the party. Remember that was the time of the Aids epidemic, militant teaching unions and plenty of old timers holding posts. Times move on, and so then do political parties.
