It took us 2 days, but I recommend taking 3-4 if you live near sea level. I had a splitting headache by the time I hit 11,000 feet. It wouldn't have been nearly as bad if I would have taken a little longer to acclimate.

Thanks for your comments. The climb was fantastic! This is definitely a great beginner climb. It's not a technical climb so the only thing you really need to bring is a good pair of walking shoes. As for preparation, just get out and start hiking. You will need to have at least a moderate level of fitness to complete a climb like Toubkal. All around fitness is good, but I do recommend you spend some time hiking around in the hills and mountains around your home first.

Great montage/film. Inspiring as a group of 6 of us are going up in May. Can't wait!

You're going to have a great time. Is it your first time to Morocco? Let me know if you're interested in a few pointers.

Sorry annoying you again but i have so many questions!:-) where did you spend the night?? are there any lodges or did you have to take your own tents?? and what about the clothes?? is it very cold or not?? i'm going there in the first week of september. I'm going from Portugal with only my backpack, on public transports. Any advice??

You will need to check climatological records to decide what to pack. Personally, I would plan for heat and cold. They may start to see storms coming in from the Atlantic in early Sept. That means it might get pretty cold. Obviously it can still be quite hot this time of year too. Convertible pant/shorts, down jacket, gloves and a beanie are a must.

how much time did it take to reach the summit?

You'll want to stay in Aroumd for a night when you first arrive. Ask for Brahim when you get to Imlil, he can hook you up. You'll have to stay at a refuge at 10,000ft before making you summit attempt. I recommend you don't bring a tent unless you plan to do other hiking in the area. Don't bring a tent up Toubkal, you won't need it. You'll need some food, but the refuge offers dinner and breakfast and Brahim will prepare breakfast if you stay with him. Best of luck to ya! Let me know how it goes.
