I love morality preached to the whole state by a guy who bilked Medicare recipients out of billion. Drug testing welfare recipients was proved unconstitutional in Michigan a few short years ago. Now the state will have to reimburse thousands of recipients for their drug testing costs costing the taxpayers millions, plus millions more fighting for a bill that has already been judged to be unconstitutional. Smart. But, not as smart as the people who voted for this thief.

So let me get this straight. I have to have a drug test at my job to make the money that goes to welfare recipients, but they should not have to take a drug test to receive that money?? That is BS!! And if all welfare recipients are clean, then why has the number of applicants drastically decreased since this was initiated??? To get this assistance the government has the right to set criteria for these people.

So if a welfare recipient is drug tested and it comes out positive and they have proof that the drug are being given to them for free - they didn't buy them with their welfare money then what happens to them?

The guy keeps saying what proof do you have that anyone on welfare is on drugs. I work at a hospital and if it wasn't for patient confidentiality we could provide proof easily. I see it everyday young people who could work on medicaid come in they get tested to try to figure out how to help them and they test positive for every street drug in the book. Most of them will flat out tell you they are on drugs when you ask them. I'm shocked that anyone is against the drug test.
