Excellent sermon. I needed to hear that because sometimes my faith isn't what it ought to be especially with all these differences of opinion about what the word of God says. Sometimes my mind is too open to outside influences. We need to stick with God's Word as revealed to us in the bible. Thanks.

@6153calme Most ppl r caught up n what the bible does not say rathr than what it does. bible says sing. It does not say play. Let's do what it says rather than wrest w/script ovr what they do not say 2Pet 3:15-17. The bible nevr say 2 say Amen in wrshp, but we can reasonably infer by script that is is alright 2 do so. Those who refus 2 do as bible says hav many excuses 2 not do as it says. As preacher say it is what it is. We find no script 4 mech inst n wrshp, it says sing so that we may teach.

@1050HzSineWaveTone Think I answrd this quest b4. Bible gives specfc & genrc comnds. The bible says sing=spec exclsve Eph 5:19 books used is gen a prsnl pref. Absent script IS a prsnl pref as long we violate none of God's commnds 1 Cor 11:13-16. This is a case were we can us the silence of script. The Bible says we are to wrshp God/Spirit/truth Jhn 4:24 spec comnd exclsiv. We stand sit a prsnl pref as we hav NO SCRIPT. Dont get stupid w/script sayng it does not say 2 use books pews etc 1Tim1:6.

The Bible is the word of God, but it's not the LITERAL Word. Many say that it is because it says that it is, but we ultimately believe what we've been told about it. If I write on a piece of paper that I'm writing the word of God, does it have any less credibility? Saying that the Bible is the literal word of God because it says so is to short-circuit your conclusion. For me, the Bible is Good on its own merit of deep TRUTH, far beyond words. How can you evaluate such merit with a closed mind?
