My old "apartment."
1K = 1 room plus a "kitchen"
It had a unit bath (think a self contained plastic bathroom unit - way less cool than it sounds) ^^

  • Tiny!

    Man ....

TELL me the square footage and what you paid in rent, please.

  • @GimmeKitty Well, it was something like 21 sqm and 44,000 yen a month. That's about 225 sqft for $500!

  • @Blitzwing01 Thanks, Hon. It looks way bigger than it is, actually.

Did you like living in Japan, overall?

    The exotic-appearing I find tempting.

  • @GimmeKitty In a word, fantastic. Japan is a really fun country to live in. You're always discovering new things, and there are surprises around every corner :D

It's also really convenient and exciting!

  • How much does it cost in us dollars

  • I don't think even a motel room over here is that small! But I think it would be cool to live in.

  • Sorry but I think I'd go nuts in that small space and spend my time walking the streets.

  • Looks like any other american apartment to me lol well besides the bathroom =P

  • @Blitzwing01 Did you pay bills on top of the ¥44,000. I've heard with some of the apartments in Japan you pay one price and everything bill wise is included in the one price. Is this true?

  • I'm really enjoying seeing these apartment tour videos from Japan on here, I'm glad so many people are posting them.

Your apartment is small (of course. it's Japan) but doesn't seem too cramped, the bathroom is a good size too. I'm impressed by the clean and new appearance of the place, and the fact that it's under 50,000 yen seems unusual.

Was this a somewhat nicer place in a somewhat less desirable location? It's just that I've seen videos of tiny, worn places with 60,000 yen rent

  • @Blitzwing01 Wow, really? OK ... Are you still living in Japan? Can you afford to get a bigger pad? Didn't the space constrain you?

And, how did you find this apt.? Did you have to jump thru' all sorts of hoops to get it?
