Love the intensity of the cymbal player. And the sound of the harps at 6:15.

Solti's take at Götterdämmerung is not my favourite, one may want to try Böhm's version.

Solti's Götterdämmerung stands (to me, anyway) as the best. Rheingold, Walkure, and Siegfried are a bit weak, especially Das Rheingold. I do find this slightly fast, but this version overall is colossal.

After hearing the Decca Ring for many years, I can conclude that having Solti as conductor was a big mistake. Knappertsbusch was the first option, but he couldn't bear Culshaw... What a pity. A Ring under such tecnical and artistical grounds should have been unsurpassable. Solti was, sorry, a mediocre conductor that gave his best precisely in these recordings. Before giving me a negative, please check out any of Kna's Bayreuth Rings and think about it... Just think about it.

Oh, I don't know... I've heard it performed slower than this, and really I generally can't handle it. I much prefer the pacing here.
-
What the f**k? Of course it is way too fast... I didn't know Culshaw was a conductor as well.

imho best version out there, couldn't say it better myself @caruso741

@Comatose7890 To be closer from the micro and sound louder!

Simply fabulous ...

solti is the bomb
Amazing to actually see something you knew only as sound for the past 15 years and considered magical. Strangely, Windgassin's glasses and Solti' s underpants showing don't take the magic away!
