@dragoneti67 Attention: the capacitances must be the same. You can go up the voltage but never go down. Electrolitic capacitors are polarized, so there is only one way to conect them to the board. They have a positive and a negative terminals. The larger terminal is the positive and the shorter is the negative. The negative terminal is identified on the body of the capacitor too. On the board the terminals are clearly identified.

@dragoneti67 ... If you don´t have a capacimeter you can do another thing. In power supply you see a large conector. Near that conector you may have 5 or 6 capacitors and you can replace them all. Here, in Portugal, I spend 12 euros with 5 or 6 capacitors. In United States, I don´t know, but maybe you spend 10 dollars. It´s a cheap repair. I hope you understand my bad english, and I hope to be helpfull.

@dragoneti67 First unplugg your tv. Second disconect all the conectors. Third with an isolated screwdriver you shortcircuit the terminals of that big capacitor. Then check the fuses on the power supply with an ohmimetter or with a multimeter in scale of ohms. You said you don´t see any bulging capacitors, but it don´t means nothing. If you have a capacimeter you can check one by one, out of the circuit. In power supply you a large conector. (Continue)

@dragoneti67 - buy the cap kit for your tv model# but it could be something else like inverter or t-con board. i discharge the caps with my body (just kidding) just use a metal screw driver but MAKE SURE TV IS OFF & UNPLUGGED, you may see a spark but thats expected when you short the 2 cap legs together.

@1961vampire Thanks for the advice . which would be the safest way to discharge them ? removing the whole circuit board first and then bridging the two terminals together ? Also.My Plasma TV does not show any bulging caps.and it has many different sizes of caps . Is there any way to diagnose each one of the modules individually and replace the faulty caps ?

@dragoneti67 Be carefull with these big capacitors, they can hold more than 400 V, and it can be dangerous. The best way to descharged it it´s easy. Use an isolated screwdriver and shortcircuit the two terminals, and you be certain that those capacitors were discharged. My english is bad, sorry.
