Even though white kids were already following rap the Beastie Boys boosted that demographic because rap was then "scary black music." Who's fault is it that tennis was boring before the Serena sisters? If I'm wrong, why is tennis getting so much attention now? Same thing with golf and Tiger. @citygirl5705 Black people tend to love the Williams sisters because of what they represent. Before they came along, there were no blacks in tennis dominating on such a grand scale. It's normal for a race to express pride when a member from their group does something positive that has never been done before. There was Ashe and Gibson, but they didn't dominate the game of tennis like the Williams sisters. During their prime, they were unstoppable and we (black people) loved them for it.
