Iron Mountain Rd. British Columbia, May 13, 2011.
There are many beaver pond in this area and last fall we filmed beavers feeding in the daytime, which is a little unusual because it is said that beavers are mostly nocturnal.
We drove in to see if the beavers were active yet and also to see if there were any babies this year.
Again for a nocturnal animal the beaver we filmed seemed to enjoy feeling the warmth of the sun as he lay on his beaver lodge snoozing away.
I admit that I made loud noises to see if it would move, but he seemed pretty secure in his surroundings and just slept away.

  • @Violetta3633 Thanks so much! I believe they are tree swallows. We lucked out last year and found these lodges where Joe used to go with his Dad, when he was much younger. Last year we got one slapping his tail & 2 others in the same pond just swimming around feeding. They didn't mind us there at all. And that was the first time I(Cindy) had seen them in the wild. :))

  • Another gorgeous video! I've spent quite a bit of time in Canada but I've never been lucky enough to see a beaver. The birds at the start of the video are stunning, what are they?
