  • Oh My God!!!! I used to watch this exact video maybe 3 or 4 yrs. ago and then it was suddenly removed due to some youtube rules that were supposedly broken-I was so damn pissed off because this is the BEST and most creative video I have seen on youtube. The art is beautiful and is synced to this great Rush song perfectly. I am so happy it is available to see again, especially since Rush is about to end their Time Machine tour and they are playing their Moving Pictures album. Excellent work!!

  • @spursfor5 You're right my friend. The video was taken down about 4 years ago. At the time it had over half a million views. Unfortunately it does'nt get many views this time round because its not showing up very high in the search lists. On the positive side I've re-uploaded it in widescreen and the quality at youtube is way better than before.

  • @saarfOfLondon My apologies, but I noticed "bonnet"? Reason I ask, I had a manager from London during my stay at Home Depot. Said car is first generation Dodge Avenger. Woman actually asked me "what are those bumps on your bonnet?" I assumed "hood" as we call it. Said bumps are rolls in the hood to keep car stable at very high speed, plant the nose. Woman asked how fast is it? My response? Care to take a ride? She politely declined.

  • @bigwallypants YOU SHOUld probably tag it better so it shows up more

  • @fivestarmichael Er... there's sampling from the streets of manhattan at the beginning, so you mean the car horns.. or whatever the Americans call them - automobile hooters or whatever..no sidewalks here... only pavements.... no hoods... only bonnets!

  • @fivestarmichael that's the sound of Big Ben at the end.. ya know that huge bell in the clocktower at the English Houses of Parliament... Man that is one huge bell... truth be known, the bell cracked and so it plays a slightly more melancholic version of what was originally intended.!

  • @saarfOfLondon oops typo - meant Misters

  • @fivestarmichael - it's just a bit of ambience, sampling a voice from the streets of London. Makes sense to me because Rush try to capture something curiously 'English' in this song . I think you'll find that Mrs Lee, LIfeson and Peart specifically put it there... it's a nice touch for us English to hear!

  • @saarfOfLondon What is the weird plopping sound at the beginning? Did Rush decide to sample "Hello, morning Guv" in the middle of the song or is it a technical mistake? Though, I can't really imagine Rush leaving something like that in their mix. I have wondered about it for quite a long time.

  • Hello, Morning Guv

  • Er yeah, sounds like "Hello, Morning Guv" (Guv being short for Governor - a slang form of Sir, a sort of 'working class' conversational mark of respect). This one is in a typical London East End accent which is pretty normal for Taxi drivers and street vendors etc..

  • @BrownLabRanch It sounds like it is some kind of recording mistake.
