Dylan Ratigan interviews Rep. Mary Lou Dickerson (U. S. House of Representatives, D-Washington State) and me, and we agree that the best way of confronting violent, obnoxious video games such as "JFK Reloaded" is to speak out against them, encourage parents not to buy them for their kids - but certainly _not_ to ban them, which runs contrary to the First Amendment, and teaches disrespect for the Constitution.

  • Never herd of the game jfk reloaded what's so bad about it compared

    To gta or hitman?

  • @skullgamer44 It's about an assassination that actually took place.

  • absolutely!

  • @baracine you clearly do not know much about video games. Also you need to get a spell check before you claim video games make people illiterate.

  • If you don't want this game, then DON'T BUY IT. If you don't want others to buy it, publicize the game or speak out against it. You can't censor or illegalize something in particular just because you don't like it. If you censor this game, people will propose the same action to other games.

Even though I did not witness the assassination, I as well feel disgusted that someone would actually create such a game. However, not everyone shares 99.9%'s view, which is why the game is protected.

  • i find it disgusting that the lady find the videogame disgusting. so do we ban her now?

  • although i am fully aware that videogames are completely safe and fine as it is, but i can see why this game "JFK Reloaded" has controversy

  • @PLev20062006 But world war two games put player in the shoes of normally an american killing endless amounts of people. Why is it so different? How can one thing can be so wrong and yet the other is fine?

it seems to be as soon as you you try to make people think about something that could or is happening then it becomes a problem. For example:

Medal of hounor is about to launch a new game. But when they include the taliban as one side of the multiplayer theres an uproar. Why?

  • jfk reloaded looks boring and crappy

  • In the Bullseye? More like in the Bullshit!!!!!!!!

  • i see there point on it bein bad cuz it talks about it killin som1 that actually existed cuz for example i dont want a game where it shows a guy killing my family but on other games they overreact

  • do you understand why the game was made? it was made to try to prove that the shot was possible since there are so many conspiracy theorists that claim it was impossible for Lee Harvey Oswald to make the shot. Why is it ok for a book about the person to be made but not a game?

  • What if there was a book about the people who hijacked the plane? should that be banned? If someone wants to make a game where you throw feces on the American flag, it should be allowed.

  • then dont buy it its called parenting dont go batshit if you have a bad parenting

  • although i love violent video games i think the reason this is controversial is that it is very disrespectful to a great former president. what if there was a game where you played as a nazi in a concentration camp where you shoot at the escaping prisoners or a game where you get to fly the plane that crashed into the twin towers?

  • Ha ha, King Shit.

  • "they are trying to make a buck"

which has just been made illegal in our new society

If you have the "audacity" in this country to make one buck..we'll take it from you and "pass it around"..you can count on it

  • I am a hardcore gamer and I do not believe that video games are simulated killing trainers like how so many people have said. I mean killing a president is bad but this JFK game (I've never played it) shouldn't be criticized like it is because it's like you are just shooting a guy in GTA except with a presidents face

  • Im an avid gamer, most of the games I play are atleast some what violent. Many of them are pretty violent. Im not going to lie, I like to play GTA 4. Further more, I take a sniper rifle, and fly on top of a building in my helicopter. And snipe all the people below in Grand theft auto. I don't do it, because I want to do it in real life though.

A game centered around simulating the assasination of a real life public figure? Just in bad taste. 10 dollars? What a over priced POS. Hope it bombed.

  • ok i dont agree with them on video games in general like the "it causes killers" but this is just messed he was a good president. so tht is fucked up

  • i bet i can find that game for free ;]

  • You guys can keep arguing abiut games, but meanwhile, I'm gonna play some Half-Life

    *2 hours later*

*takes out crowbar* ME WANT KILL!!!!!!!!!

  • What a bunch of morons

  • there probably gonna ban gears of war 2

:( if they do im gonna start a revolt and kill the person who was an overprotective sonofabich who spoke about banning these games

  • woah. that mary lou dickerson is STOOOOOOOOONED
