My first time shooting a revolver in the ESR Division with my Smith & Wesson 625 JM. it's a really fun gun to shoot. the recoil impulse is very different from a 1911 which I'm used to. The trigger is also something I have to practice more. I bombed pretty badly with like 18 points down on one stage (with the orange soft cover) because of my trigger control. Also, I had about 5 light primer strikes which I have to investigate. I think it's because of the trigger spring which I might have to tighten.

Apart from that, It's FUN!!!

  • Excellent video, thanks for sharing it. I've been considering buying a 625 for a while, either a Mountain Gun or the Thunder Ranch. I've definately decided now and it just a matter of which one. Thanks again for the video.

  • @gunrobot Your cycling of the action with those mis-fires was VERY dangerous...What would have happened do you think, if one of those rounds was a hangfire? It would have blown the round out the cylinder as it was cycling around! Are you a certified gunsmith? Take three moon clips, measure them, you will get three different values of thicknesses. A gunsmith familiar with the 625 will fill you in. Don't be guessing, take it to a professional.

  • @YeszItsMe You should! and take some pics or videos of you shooting it.

  • @gunrobot ...which would also have been my next suggestion if the Federals aren't hitting. Good luck and thanks for the response on the F.O. sight. I may switch my original out soon.

  • @YeszItsMe I haven't shot a Gold Bead sight before so I can't comment about it, but the bright red FO sight is amazing in the day. you can even see it glow red in rainy seattle weather in a youtube quality video. It works extremely well to guide your eyes to the front sight, after that it's just a matter of aligning the sights and pressing out a shot. (which i fail miserably at in a few stages :) )

For competition, the red or green fiber is almost a necessity.

  • @YeszItsMe yeah I am using well seated Federal primers, that's why I'm perplexed as to why it's still misfiring. There were a variety of suggestions, from tightening mainspring, to checking hammer drop weight to changing to APEX firing pin (which is what I'll be doing tonight)
