Lucinda Fredericks and The Navigator scored a good 46.2 in the dressage at the 2011 Bramham International Horse Trials. On the Cross Country course, though, they came unstuck at the Dickinson Dee's Beachside fence.

  • @Thumper427 I do believe she was telling him to walk through the water - with the touch of her whip. He hesitated to jump in (causing the fall) and then as a training exercise (IMHO) she asked him to walk the long way THROUGH the water to get out. She could have just walked him onto the land. But he appearred to hesitate at the water - hence the tap. This is done to encourage him not to baulk next time. NOT horse abuse!!

  • @Thumper427 She touched him, if that--not even sure the whip made contact, and if it did, it was very light with no power behind it. If you look, he steps in her direction, so it's likely she was signaling him to stay out of her space. She didn't smack him with it, and you can clearly see he's not at all afraid of it, nor was he being punished. I think she would hit him harder with her hand while patting him than she did with the whip.

She patted him before! So it is not horse abuse. If she did abuse/beat (which she doesn't) the horse would have galloped way when he had a chance

I do not want to hear things about her abusing her horses!

  • Some things to get clear about this video!:

She is a fab rider and truthfully she would know more about riding :)

Her jacket inflates. They attach it to their saddle so when they fall on the cord snaps which opens an air can ester which inflates quicker than a second. If you wonder why I know this. People at my PC camp came in to talk about them :)

The reason why she TAPPED her horse was to get him of the course ASAP. They all are set of 10 minutes after each other. It should have noticed she p

  • she had to get the horse out of the water because the horses are let off at short intervls so if she is standing there trying to get her horse to move and another comes along it won't end well

  • she was already off balance after the jump before so the second jump made her fall and she was telling the horse to go through the rest of the water so the horse wouldnt shy away from it during training and she tapped the horse bc idk y and she really loves her horse i liked how she acted like nothing happened

  • @dressagediva123

It does! It's kind of a 'new' device that is picking up popularity. It attaches to the saddle by a clip, so once the clip is detached by a fall, it inflates immediately for the rider. Funny thing was when they started using them. Riders forgot they were clipped in when they dismounted and their grooms would try to yell for them to stop and they didn't and it'd inflate, ha. What a sight that would have been.

  • Awesime rider. I love how she patted her horse to resasure him that it wasn't his or her fault

  • lol it looks like she majorly wet her pants :) But I now how that feels:( My horse dumped me in water :(((

  • @dressagediva123 i think it was:) There brilliant when you fall!

  • was tha saftey vest she was wearing inflatable ! it looked soo much larger after she fell! thats so cool!

  • @TheSofieLee
