Tying Assist cords to hooks for Tuna Jigging.

Product used:

Jigging Master 11/0 Monster Jigging Hook
Owner Solid Ring rated 900lbs size#?
Kevlar Assist Cord - 350kg

Jig is a Hot's Drift Tune 240g Sardine

Fellow anglers, this is my first "to-do" video. Just made to help others tie their own setups and feel satisfaction from tying and catching tuna on their own customized stuff!

I eventually decided to put this length jig/cord on the SMITH Ltd. JackKnife-R 300g jig instead of the Hot's.

Enjoy!

  • bakersystem, try a jigging rod in the 150g rating. I have built a Spinalrodscom 150 blank. It loads very well and parabolic. If you are looking for faster action there is a nice Smith WGJ 52M spiral that is sweet!

  • those half hitches dont unravel under load?

why woudl that be better than, say, just a uni knot to the eye of the hook using both strands of the cord? Is it about how the hook moves on hookup?

great vids btw just subscribed and have my first JM combo on order as of this morning ;-)

  • @BuoyzToyz I suggest dropping some super gel glue on the half hitches. They dont tend to unravel but when they do the knot holds at the top. The proper way to enter the eye is through the front. When the hook pulls it is aligned properly. :)

  • Very very good knot ! I'm leaving for Djibouti in 7 days and I'm surely going to use it on the big Aj's !

Thank you so much for sharing it !

  • @tarpon07
