@Darkfollower666 effective for what? and safer? if you what to get better, or work the hole muscle you have to do the full range of motion.. like if you do half a squat you will get better at half a squat.. doing it this way he is working half the motion in his bicep, half the pecs and half the lats.. he will get stronger in that motion.. not dissing the pullup thow.. but as a general thing you have to train full motion.. if you not focusing on sticking points etc..

@Darkfollower666 Not true man ;-) For example for climbing the start and the proper finish above the bar is crucial.

@TomasRydval I know they say a proper chin up is over the bar, but it's much safer and just as effective to have the arm in a 90 degree angle like here.

why the hell does this have some many dislikes?? YES, he didn't clear the bar, but yea got two 3 quarter reps which is a hell of a lot more than i bet just about anyone disliking this can do...yes get your chin over the bar man, training will help with that. But you're more of less able to do one, which is something on average less than 1 in 10,000 people can do.

It should go slow and deliberate with the chin clean over the bar, and hold it, no ballistic movement. That's how I used to do it twenty years ago, in my thirties, either hand, just one rep was all I could get with my non-dominant hand, and two with my dominant. I never found in the gyms, then, anyone else who could match me. Today, my "feat" would be like nothing, really. Lots of people must be able to do clean one hand pull ups. Took me two weeks of "I'm gonna do this", to get the power.
Great muscles, great power. But it's not the true one-arm pull up. Your chin was way under the bar. But nice anyway ;-)
