http://www.u2miracle.com - You know The Edge for jamming it out as the guitarist, keyboardist and main backing vocalist for U2. Now, the Irish rocker is giving fans deeper insight into his musicianship in Davis Guggenheim's upcoming documentary, "It Might Get Loud," which features three master of the instrument -- Edge, Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page and The White Stripes' Jack White -- from different generations.

"I drive everyone crazy. I drive myself totally crazy trying to get the sound that I can hear in my head to come out of the speakers," Edge says in this exclusive clip from the film. "It's my voice. That is my voice -- what's coming out of the speaker."

"It Might Get Loud" took two years to film and began as the idea of producer Thomas Tull ("The Dark Knight," "300"), chairman of Legendary Pictures. Tull, who collects guitars and amplifiers and often gets together with friends for blues jam sessions, was also inspired by the popularity of video games such as "Guitar Hero" and "Rock Band" and decided to team with Guggenheim for his first piece.

"It Might Get Loud" will be released on Aug. 14 in Los Angeles and New York. - http://www.twitter.com/u2miracle

  • People who say one guitarist or another is the greatest are completely missing the point of the film. These guys have different backgrounds, inspirations, and create different music b/c of that. One is a sonic engineer, another is a proficient technical artist, and another is a rough and tumble back-to-roots kind of guy.

They all play the same instrument, but have unique strengths and therefore do very different things with it. To my ears, it's all good. Why argue at all? Just enjoy it.

  • Dude, every big guitar player has a guitar tech.

  • @xEnZoProDucTioNz - Yeah man !!! JP with his 14 reverb pedals, 14 amps, & 4 delay pedals !!! All the way !!!

You don't know what Rock & Roll is ...

  • @xEnZoProDucTioNz You just don't get it. The Edge's effects are what make him so unique. He mixes and matches the effects until he gets the sound in his head to come out of the speakers. They just push music forward and continue to expand the realm of possibilties for guitar. The Edge captures the beauty of guitar by representing this idea which makes him a Rock n' Roll icon. If you're open-minded enough, you'll realize how much of a true genius the man is

  • Hey how do u play Edge music , simple , ohh but nothing but 7 reverb pedals 7amps , 2 delays peda;s , Fukin phony , not a real guitarist , killing the true spirit of Rock & Roll , Jimmy Page all the way...

  • @buddylee1983 I read that exact phrase by someone referring to Page a long time ago . It's funny he should use that exact same phrase to describe someone else . Quite a compliment though
