Live recording of the Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart doing You Shook Me and Let Me Love You featuring Jeff Beck-guitar, Rod Stewart-vocals, Ron Wood-bass, Nicky Hopkins-piano and Tony Newman-drums. Recorded mid-1969 in the U.S. but other info known. Killer tone from Jeff. This band provided the template for Led Zeppelin.

  • @runningdog415 Oh MUCH love for Mayall (not mayo) and bluesbreakers. Beck was not in that band, but Mayall and then others kept the ol' blues alive long enough for a serious return to conciousness by Beck, Led Zepellin, Cream and those that follwed them. John Mayall was de shit :D

  • The sound quality is abyssmal. But it sounds AWESOME.... is this not a testament to what a great group this was? Jeff is a rock and roll God!!!

  • @runningdog415 - Clapton was in the Bluesbreakers, Beck was not. When Clapton quit the Yardbirds, Jimmy Page (who declined the gig) recommended his buddy Beck, who at the time was in the Tridents. While Clapton was a blues purist (thus John Mayall's interest in him), Beck used the blues as a launching pad to invent psychedelia with the Yardbirds on 'Shapes of Things', 'Over Under Sideways Down' and - especially - 'Happenings 10 Years Time Ago', w/Jimmy Page on rhythm.

  • how bout some love for john mayo beck and clapton were in the blus brakers fuckinfing 0345 MDST i go to bed!

  • This the Jeff Beck group, people. Quit posting about Led Balloon on here.

  • Peter Grant was managing the Yardbirds before they dissolved, bramley. He had dates booked and asked Page to put a band together to play these dates. In the beginning LZ toured as the New Yardbirds.
