you know nothing werdum got dropped once and it wasnt a massive knockdown, overeem didint control he was backing up, he was outstruck ( look at the stats ) and he was being controlled in his verdums guard

@threap123 Like I said before, don't make statements when you don't know what you are talking about. How many knock downs did Overeem get in this fight? Werdum managed to have a few decent exchanges, but only a couple strikes did any real damage. Overeem legitimately knocked Werdum to the canvas. He just was wary of being caught in a sub, so he didn't follow up. Overeem controlled the fight. It was an easy fight to judge. Both corners and fighters knew Overeem had won.

@gringofreestyler they dont when verdum when landed more strikes.Never dangerous he trew and backed the dutch horse up and landed more significant strikes-

@threap123 I guess counter punches don't count. Overeem connected with the more powerful punches. Werdum was never dangerous with his striking. Learn a little more about martial arts before make statements like that.

@threap123 He won, because he effectively prevent Werdum from doing anything dangerous in the fight. Almost no striker is going to get a KO is this fight. Werdum wasn't going to allow it. Every time he felt in danger, he flopped to his back. Overeem landed by far the more meaningful strikes making him the winner. Why do people think JDS is so much better striker than Overeem? Overeem is K-1 Champion. He's beaten far better strikers than JDS. JDS vs Overeem should be a great fight.

@Incabus69 I agree, Werdum is a very under rated striker. If Werdum works more on his striking, and grows more confidence, he can make a run for the UFC title. He destroyed Nelson with little effort. If you watch Overeem's fights, he's had problems against taller opponents, eg Badr Hari, Werdum. Werdum is a clearly agood 2 inches taller.
