Oh definitely. They had to be detuned, They were NA, most JGTC cars are turbo'd.

  • @pimp349 I cant imagine they were running anywhere near peak performance in JGTC (if the Diablos were anything to go by). I remember I saw a photo of a MR2 GT racer in front of an F1 on a track. I reckon that about sums it up.

Some great cars in JGTC, don't get me wrong...

Always happy to meet another GT1 fan.

1998 was the last year that saw the GT1 class at Le Mans, and it included GT1 cars from Porsche, Toyota, Mercedes Benz, Nissan, Panoz, and McLaren. By 1999 the GT1 class was renamed to GTP and only Toyota and MB had GT1-type cars, everyone else switched to LMP-type cars.

The Mclaren F1 GTR still raced in the British GT in 1999 and in the JGTC from 1999-2003. Coming back for a short time in 2005.

    Actually it was 1998.

  • best car ever made

  • @damiannerd I take it you mean the F1 GTR. the last year was1997. That was the last year that the GT1 class was around and the McLaren was ineligible to race after that.

  • what was the last year a mclaren competed in the le mans series
