This video is Real Time. It has not been sped up!
This video is of the Pioneer Trail which parallels Highway 20 in California heading down to Nevada City, Ca. It is 21.6 miles one way. This is from the top down. This trail looses 3500 ft, and gains 1000ft. So there is much more downhill than up. It is a fairly easy trail with some advanced sections, but most is an intermediate trail with the length making it advanced in length. The faster you ride, the harder the trail gets.
You can find the Free GPS track, and the topo map with directions at:

www.GreatBasinBicycles.com in Reno, NV. 775-825-8258
Please always ride with a trail bell, and always SHARE the trail!!!

The Camera bike is a Cannondale Rize 140, and the bike being chased is a Yeti ASR 5.

Thanks

  • hi, how does the ASR-5 compare to the 575?

  • @gmarte12 The ASR5 and the 575 are the same frame. However, since the ASR5 only has 5" of suspension, it drops the headtube angle, and makes the bike more responsive. I look at the ASR5 as a longer travel cross country bike, and the 575 as more of a rideable all mountain bike. I love the ASR5 because it climbs wonderfully, downhills much better than a 4" bike, and just preforms wonderfully everywhere. But, with that said, I am not a DownHiller. There the 575 is better.

  • thankyou so much for posting this! I worked at Snow Mtn Camp in Nevada City in 96 and 7 (i think that was the tears anyway) as the MTB instructor and took the good riders on this track plus lots around round mtn and down to the yuba. It has always been a plan to return to the states and ride this amazing track again. thankyou again. Go ride it again for me, and while youre there, do the yuba switchback and have a swim naked too!

  • @otwayninja The Trail along the Yuba is one of my next videos for next summer. And as for the swim, I always do.
