I am getting that she is addict, the hair is from a little boy she got taken away from her due to her addiction, and the cross is from someone she has not met, not yet. She is probably a fingernails width from oding every time she slams and plans on meeting Jesus, but not yet.
She pulls those shades down tight, most addicts are paranoid, thinking someone is watching them There is smile when the pain comes, thats the needle. The pain, what she gets from the needle, is making things right.

You guys are all WRONG!! This song is about a girl that has to lie about things to make herself feel better and loved. She wants to be able to do differently though, if you guys would actually listen to the lyrics then you would know this. It's not about a girl that has ESP!!
