@armarda2 Who says he was running from trouble? He didn't have any trouble. Atleast not on the outside. He didn't like this shitty mental society, how can you face that? I mean what are you gonna do if you feel that? Kill everyone? Lol he did face this shit, he left the society and had the balls to do something brilliant.

But maybe I'm completely wrong. Perhaps his childhood was more traumatic than the book and film portrayed. Perhaps his parents' relationship was violent or psychologically toxic to their children. Perhaps he didn't cowardly run away; perhaps he escaped with his sanity still intact. Ultimately, his journey has surely sparked numerous conversations and debates among many - and these dialogues may have enlightened and inspired others to make a change. It certainly did for me.

You are absolutely right about your thoughts on me and may be right on your opinion of Chris. The interior lives of people are much too complex for others to understand or judge. I'm sorry for all the replies. I was in a half-drunk, inspirational/judgmental mood. This tale means a lot to me as I have been living overseas and separated from my family for 10+ years. Perhaps my comments here are my therapy for my interior struggles that I'm dealing with.
