Beck thought that Jimi might be full of himself to the extent that he would not share anything. But he was completely wrong! Jimi told Jeff that he had used one of his riffs.....and at that point Jeff realised that Jimi would share too! He realised that Jimi was prepared to give him inspiration in making his music too. Clapton, Beck, Hendrix, and other guitarists too, were brothers. Sharing and giving inspiration to one another was normal.
Eric is speaking from his gut. It is emotional. Both Eric and Jimi were self taught guitarists. Jimi had a reverence for Eric Clapton and for Jeff Beck. These guitarists were Jimi's heros! He put in a request to Chaz Chandler to meet them as a pre-condition to agreeing to come to England. Having experienced Jimi, Clapton had a strong reverence for him as an artist. They were all borrowing from each other to make wonderful music. There was no selfishness. These artists were almost like brothers.
Noel quitting was the best thing that ever happened? Rubbish! First The Experience was finished, and that was not so good, even though there was a brief attempt to reform it. Second, Jimi never achieved the same bass effect, even with Billy Cox on bass. Say what you like, the trio were the sound. After Noel left, the sound was finished, and although Jimi went on as the genius player he was, and used others, the sound the trio made was never recaptured. Noel forgave Jimi. All in heaven now. RIP.
Wow! At 3.40 Hendrix is nodding his head at mitch from the other side of the stage to bring sunshine your love to an end, mitch adapts so quickly following the riff out and ending it..They might have played it once before messing around,''But hendrix was so spontaneous.
