Paul Harvey was a journalist, commentator and a salesman.
In this radio tribute broadcast shortly after his death, Paul is heard extolling the virtues, challenges and importance of good salesmanship for worthwhile products and services.
Mentioned as exemplary salesmen are Sears, Roebuck, Wrigley, Billy Graham, Abe Lincoln, Gary Cooper, George Peabody, Arthur Godfrey and James Cash Penney.
From the ABC radio network March 3, 2009 with Gil Gross.
Inspiring! A must thing for an aspiring salesman! Want to excel in sales? Then learn to identify the genuine customers first. Unfortunately, I met a bad example recently. If you want to know more why not read salescase.blogspot.com

I, too, heard this decades ago and liked it so much that I wrote to ABC in Chicago asking for a transcript of it. I never heard back from them so was especially excited (as a semi-retired, middle-aged lifetime salesman) to discover it here on YouTube. bctvguy-you made my day...thanks a million!

I've been looking for this since I heard Mr. Harvey read it on his weekend show many years ago. Thanks Gil - and thank you bctvguy! - for posting it.
