This man is up there with Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan & Willie Nelson for song quality & consistency. Being worthy of being called an American treasure. John Haitt isn't too far behind either. There are many great songwriters in America (Steve Earle) -- but this man is something special. The subjects he picks, the sincerity & humor he brings. Respected by virtually everyone in this game. "Angel from Montgomery," is one of these miracles. Just ask Bonnie Raitt.
