  • An interesting perspective sputukgmail. I love hearing the various perspectives on how others interpret Bob and Sue. You may enjoy more from cloudworks.ac.uk/cloud/view/4103 or cloudworks.ac.uk/cloud/view/4686

  • I tried this tool that developed this animation. It was fun to use and it easy to create something like this video. But I found out AFTER working on it for a while that I needed to pay for anything that I wanted to publish - my University isn't likely to provide a budget for my students to be able to do this - so a good idea but I will look for a free animation tool...

  • @Mikeubd Hi there, I can appreciate your frustrations, I experienced the same at first. Inorder NOT to have to pay, you cannot change the characters or background, but you can change the voices/accents. That is why I have stuck with the default and concentrated on the scripts for amusement more than the visual. So it's free but limited. Rgs Julie

  • @juliecarle1 Another point, I write the script and copy and paste into the movie, then publish so I have a copy. If you try to save you will get the buy points message and you loose your work. Then, after you publish, remix the video and add movement etc. You can publish and remix as many times as you want. When finished, publish with Youtube, then you can embed in websites, hope that helps, don't give up yet. Julie

  • Often 'free' tools are actually the most expensive option as a result. The criticism of the VLE being 'old' or 'unreliable' may be valid in many institutions, but that is a detail of implementation, not a philosophical fundamental issue. If your VLE isn't fit for purpose, work to fix it however necessary - if that means challenging the 'powers that be' to get your IT departments aligned to the business needs (which could mean seeking partnerships with other institutes to gain the resources need

  • My point in the VLE PLE debate at ALT-C 2009 and later in the VLE undead debate is that Bob has his transport metaphor exactly reversed. HE is all about mass transportation - getting a lot of people from A-B cheaply and effectively. Yes, people can wander off and find their own transport (PLE) and some will either be expert enough to find excellent transport that is quicker for them and cheaper, and others my stumble into something at least fairly effective, but without guidance and assistance,
