One good thing that came from being raised in a strict religion is I have recently discovered that this isn't a band from the late nineties like I thought and I have enjoyed listening to all the songs I haven't heard yet. Especially this one.

Back when REO was on the radio non stop, I was one of those folks that didn't like Kevin's "R's" and ending a line with "---ya!". Now I realize it made him unique. No other rocker sang like that. I'm not sure if any famous rocker has EVER sung like that. by the way, In 2013, I LOVE Kevin's singing!

Unique. Some people complain that he sustains his 'R's and vowelizes the ends of his words ("time for me to fly-YA"), but I think he uses those quirks skillfully and memorably.

What is it about his VOICE that I can't get enough of? I can listen to the same song a million times and I'll never get tired of it. He is mesmerizing to listen to.

What are you talking about? That was pure music. The only thing that was controlled was the audience. They couldn't dance or sing during performances on that show back then as they were recording it live. But once the done was done, they roared with cheers. You are no music maven, that is for sure.
