A few other clips from my meeting Millvina Dean in June 1998, Alberta Canada.

****** Just for your info ******

The places where things aren't exactly centered is because I am resting my arm with the camera in different ways to give the impression I was not taping, this way I could record casual conversing between Millvina and us.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. She seemed to be a genuine person. I can't help but to feel sad when I think that now, with her passing, the world has lost its human connection to Titanic, and all we are really left with are the man made artifacts. That, coupled with the fact that the remains of the ship are so far away and so difficult to reach, makes it even more difficult. But I guess this is the same with all historical events i.e, the last Civil War veteran to die, the last WWI vet.

  • You really do understand the signifcance of her her passing. Not many do. You analogy of other vets has always been my point. For example, one day the last person is going to pass away who was maybe that 5 year old boy that was there when Kennedy was shot, even if he doesn't remember much either.... that human connection, a living witness that was at a historical event read in history books....

  • i had the privallige of meeting this beautifull lady in may 2001 at the autographica show in northhampton,i got

to talk to her, offered her a drink wich she politly turned down because she said her boy friend would not agree, splendid human being,

god bless you dear lady rest in peace.

  • Yes she certainly was a beautiful lady, and like you I still feel it a privilege to have met her and the odds of me meeting her had to be God arranged because, truly you wouldn't believe what the odds and the circumstances were at the time. When you met her in 2001, it was around that time that she began slowing down her appearances abroad, except closer European engagements. Thanks for sharing that.

  • What a nice video. Titanic International Society has had the pleassure of having Millvina at a few of our conventions as well. I was happy to meet with her and talk with her at length. May she rest in peace.

  • And talk at length she could eh?! She was so engaging you could talk all afternoon and never be bored. After reading more of her biography, she had such an interesting life, i wish I could have asked more beyond the Titanic. I wonder how many have videoed their meeting Millvina over the years? I hope more people post them up on Youtube if they did.

  • Sharing both your videos on Rhyoln's Birthdays PAge on Facebook in honour of Millvina's birthday. Thank you so much for posting these.

  • thank you very much for your reply dad.

i coulnt agree with you more.

  • What a great loss it is with the passing of Millvina Dean. As you can see from both my vids, she states she enjoyed the acclaim and to grant people the opportunity to meet her or write her. I had a great afternoon with her, and she became a fast friend indeed. Now in Gods' keep, and at last, to meet the father she never knew, best wishes to you, Millvina
