@bluemyst75 I wish their was a full episode during the '96-'99 format! There's one already posted, but it's when Carly Simon sang that theme. Just from seeing how it was back in those days. I wished I had an episode I recorded and saved to this day!
I love these old clips. I wish someone would post video of CBS This Morning with Jane Robelot, Mark McEwen, and Jose Diaz-Balart. I believe they anchored from 1996 until the debut of The Early Show in 1999.
This period (96-99) would bring back a lot of memories for me. I love CBS News!!!
CBS This Morning never received a "proper burial." I assume that its death was circa 1996 when it evolved into "CBS Morning." When the program visited San Francisco in May 1994, it had one of the most picturesque and memorable closes of any television program that I've seen. Harry Smith, Paula Zahn and Mark McEwen boarded a cable car at roughly 5:57 a.m. and rode off uphill into the sunrise. I've always thought that would have been a fine way to sign off the entire program on its final day.
