Well by saying God, or "Bronze Age Mythology" shouldn't be part of our reality you're saying the philosophies, morals, & beliefs pertaining to God should be ignored as well, which seems like disregarding history. Also I didn't say it should be abolished, I said it's harmful to society, and I oppose it. Most people should know not to be dictated, but they are regardless. The reason why is because we've allowed media to grow unrestrained, with any opposition being ignored or made fun of.

I'm the last person to disregard any part of history.And while there is a lot about the entertainment field I dislike/disagree with,the fact remains that if we abolish everything that someone finds offensive,we won't be left with much.If the masses lack personal discipline and can't turn off/not watch/not read what they don't like,abolishing it won't help.It's impossible for the media not to have some influence,sure,but most people should know not to let entertainment dictate their lives.

I was simply stating that disregarding history in general is idiotic. And sure, in the end it's merely entertainment, but that's not to say it isn't harmless to society. By supporting the song you're supporting its morals, people, beliefs etc. Also, despite your claim society/media has some influence in everyone's life. Why do you wear clothes, speak English, own a computer? The point being is that although you enjoy the song, doesn't mean the song isn't detrimental to society in some form.

Actually I was merely pointing out that this is just a song & nothing more,mere entertainment,and I didn't say you have to "go with whatever you feel like",live life according to or do anything because it's depicted in a form of entertainment(music,film,etc),­as I certainly don't let any part of the media tell me how to live.And also that mythology should not be taken literally.As for being "idiotic" or lacking in morals,I'll weigh my intelligence and my character against anyone's.

That kind of sounds like you're stating we should completely disregard history and the morals they learned (through their own mistakes) and just go with whatever we feel like. No offense but that's idiotic.

I think God will just let us swill in our own filth till the point we're sick and tired of our own immorality and vulgarity. Then society will turn to God again for a while, and then get bored with the idea completely forgetting the reason why we turned to him, until we become just as vulgar and disgusting again. And the cycle goes on and on.
