The original series, with Macnee' in a supporting role, was done live and Steed was sidekick to some sort of doctor. Very interesting genealogy. Early episodes with Macnee and Honor Blackman continued to be done live for a while, believe it or not, and some episodes are available for viewing at the Paley Center for Media in New York and Los Angeles.

Just think, that movie has 2 "Avengers" alumna...Joanna Lumley and Diana Rigg. Cool.
